Suds is determined to be the first to win his halo, but the competition is fierce and his anxiety level rises. Just when the outcome seems clear, surprises come from both his classmates and his teacher. Spinelli works in some interesting concepts, such as levels of niceness (positive actions versus cessation of negative actions) and the questionable value of goal-oriented goodness. A prequel to Spinelli’s Fourth Grade Rats (1991), this accessible chapter book features a simply written, first-person narrative and believable, true-to-third-grade characters. Illustrations include plenty of black-and-white pictures (most not seen in final form) and a clever, eye-catching image on the jacket. Another beautifully photographed and narrated book by Ms. Kelley and her husband, photographer Tom Street-Porter. I have three of their books and this one is a nice edition to,the collection.

Beautiful photography encompassing many unique styles.

I love the area, love the architecture and love the people. But I thought this book was somewhat 'ok'....was looking for more excitement but this is just my opinion....

Quite disappointed. I was anxiously waiting for the book. I have a house in Merida and I have visited really amazing houses worth to be included in the book. Indeed two of them were included in the book. The photos did not honor the houses. Great idea with poor results.

More needed to impress me.Don't get me wrong. I love owning the book and there are some really beautiful ideas.
